What you'll need to do
If you're keen to get involved or just to find out more about AuSSI-Tas, contact the Tasmanian project officer. The next steps will be to:
- Arrange a meeting with the project officer and read your information pack.
- Get agreement and commitment from your school community
- Write a School Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) that takes into account the issues for your whole school - this is at least a 12 month goal setting plan that includes the team of people who’ll contribute.
Even if you’re not quite ready to become a AuSSI-Tas school, you can still join our mailing list to hear about:
- what other schools are doing
- what funding/grants are available
- training and professional development opportunities.
Help we'll provide
We’ll help you to put your SEMP together and provide you with tools to help with baseline measurements. We’ll also give you regular updates about new programs and grants and reimbursement schemes. You might also be eligible for teacher release arrangements that give you time to spend on your school’s AuSSI-Tas work.
See the Schools page to read about ways AuSSI-Tas schools have included sustainability into their lessons and school life.
The Curriculum page provides ideas on how sustainability can be incorporated into a variety of subjects.
The Partnerships page lists all the organisations who support AuSSI-Tas.
