About climate change
Teachers, school staff members, students and school communities who participate in AuSSI-Tas are making significant contributions towards reduce their carbon emissions. Carbon emissions are the major contributor to climate change.
The Tasmanian Climate Change Office (TCCO) is part of the Department of Premier and Cabinet and it has been set up to lead the Government’s efforts to respond to the challenges of climate change in Tasmania.
The TCCO’s objectives are to empower Tasmanians to:
- reduce their greenhouse gas emissions
- adapt to the changes in our climate
- make a successful transition to a low carbon economy
- capture new opportunities that a changing climate will provide
- contribute to national and global solutions.
